SAMSUNG E&A, a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced today that it is launching a full-scale entry into the LNG plant market by unveiling its ‘LNG Module Package’ at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. Specialized for LNG liquefaction plant construction, the package was introduced on Sept. 16 at Gastech, the world’s largest exhibition for natural gas, LNG, low-carbon solutions, and energy AI, which draws global energy executives and government officials.

Optimized for small and medium-sized LNG projects, the new "LNG Module Package" delivers a comprehensive solution by modularizing key liquefaction plant processes. The solution combines Samsung E&A’s proprietary modular technology with the AP-SMR™ (Single Mixed Refrigerant) LNG Process liquefaction technology of Honeywell Technologies, a global LNG tech pioneer.

By offering pre-engineered, modularized systems, this integrated solution accelerates every phase from initial development through full EPC execution, reducing total project duration by around 20%.

The modular construction method involves prefabricating key equipment in a factory or yard and assembling it on-site, which minimizes on-site work and is advantageous for quality control and process management. SAMSUNG E&A has incorporated the modular execution capabilities accumulated from numerous projects into this package, thereby boosting both productivity and completeness.

Through this package, the company plans to enhance its competitiveness and expand its LNG business scope by proactively responding to the growing demand for modularization, centered on small and medium-sized LNG liquefaction plants. In particular, the strength of the pre-designed package lies in its ability to provide clients with rapid and specific technical and business information starting from the initial development stage of a project. The company's strategy is to accelerate customer decision-making and secure a foundation for participation from the early stages of the project, thereby leveraging this to enhance its competitiveness in future EPC bidding.

Earlier this year, SAMSUNG E&A reorganized its business portfolio into △Hydrocarbon, △Advanced Tech, and △New Energy, designating LNG as a key growth pillar for New Energy alongside its Clean Energy and Water businesses. Since then, it has built a track record in the LNG sector by successively winning contracts for the basic design of an eco-friendly LNG plant in Indonesia and the conceptual design of an LNG plant in North America.
