SEOUL, Korea – Oct. 22, 2026 – SAMSUNG E&A, a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced today its preliminary Q3 2026 financial results, recording revenue of KRW 2.9105 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 500.6 billion (consolidated under K-IFRS). Revenue and operating profit rose 45.8% and 183.6%, respectively.
SAMSUNG E&A’s nine-month cumulative revenue totaled KRW 7.7872 trillion and operating profit of KRW 961.9 billion. Explaining the solid performance, the company stated, "As revenue from large-scale Hydrocarbon and Advanced Tech projects began to be fully reflected, we achieved significant improvements in both productivity and profitability through rigorous project cost management and innovation in project execution—leveraging technologies such as AI, digital transformation (DT), and robotics."
Q3 new orders reached KRW 9.4 trillion, bringing the year's cumulative total to KRW 17.1 trillion. As of the end of Q3, SAMSUNG E&A’s order backlog stood at KRW 27.2 trillion, representing approximately three years of business based on last year’s KRW 9 trillion in revenue. Notably, SAMSUNG E&A was awarded an exclusive contract in September from SABIC Agri-Nutrients for a fertilizer project valued at approximately KRW 4.7 trillion (approximately USD 3.5 billion).
Through Q3, SAMSUNG E&A recorded a cumulative order intake of KRW 17.1 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 961.9 billion. In a revised disclosure regarding its business outlook, the company has raised its annual order forecast for this year from KRW 12 trillion to KRW 19 trillion, and its operating profit forecast from KRW 800 billion to KRW 1.4 trillion.
Meanwhile, SAMSUNG E&A announced on Oct. 22 that its board of directors has approved a share buyback program totaling approximately KRW 780 billion. The buyback will take place over a three-month period, from Oct. 23, 2026, to January 22, 2027, with the dual objectives of enhancing shareholder value and providing employee compensation. Of this amount, KRW 690 billion will be used to acquire shares for subsequent cancellation—a move aimed at boosting shareholder value—while the remaining KRW 90 billion will be allocated for purposes such as employee bonuses.
This decision to repurchase and cancel treasury shares serves as a special shareholder return—reflecting both the achievement of management goals beyond initial targets and the needs of the market—aimed at sharing the company’s success with shareholders and enhancing corporate value. The company determined that this is the optimal time for such a special return, as it anticipates strong growth momentum driven by the integration of AI and robotics into the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) expertise and data accumulated over decades—a move that enables greater design efficiency and the optimization of costs, project schedules, and systems. Moving forward, SAMSUNG E&A intends to ensure that its business performance translates into tangible benefits for shareholders, fostering a virtuous cycle where company growth and the enhancement of shareholder value reinforce one another.
“Leveraging our robust order backlog, we will continue to deliver premium project outcomes and stable financial performance through rigorous project management and a differentiated execution strategy rooted in innovative technologies. By pursuing balanced growth across all core sectors—Hydrocarbon, Advanced Tech, and New Energy—we will solidify the foundation for sustainable, long-term growth,” a SAMSUNG E&A spokesperson said.
