In May 2007, we won the Ma’aden Ammonia Project from the Saudi state-owned mining company, Ma’aden, aimed at building an ammonia plant with the capacity of 3,300 tons per day (the largest in the world at the time).
Despite the shortage of resources due to the plant construction boom in the Middle East region, we completed the construction to perfection according to schedule. From a safety perspective, we achieved 15 million manhours without incident, and from a quality perspective, we produced ammonia with a purity of 99.86% which is higher than the normal content. Recognized for our project management skills, we received the GCC Mashreq Oil & Gas Project of the Year Award by MEED, the Middle Eastern economic news publishing company.
